Middle Names for Ivy
My husband and I decided on Ivy for our second girls option. Our first is Cora Annaliese, which we LOVE! Now we are just trying to come up with a middle.name for Ivy, which is proving very difficult! Here are my thoughts....
I love the sound of Ivy Tennyson or Ivy Emerson or Ivy Harper... love the tomboyish literary refference along with short sweet and cute Ivy. Although I really dont like the name Elizabeth at all, I still think Ivy Elizabeth sounds AWESOME. My husband agrees the longer names sound best, arpund 3 or 4 sylables.
My husband came up with Ivy Gray last night which he absolutely loves but I do not like. It sounds tpo 'Gray'! I suggested Grayson, and other color names, none of which he liked.
We would love some help, berries! :)
I like the sound of Ivy Tennyson & Ivy Emmerson too.. what does your DH think of them?
Ivy Elizabeth is gorgeous too.
I'm not fond of Ivy Gray either -even your DH said that Ivy works best with a longer name, so Gray doesn't fit the bill.
How about Ivy Vivienne
these have a similar ending sound to Emmerson & Tennyson but are more feminine. :)
I have Ivy Elena on my list. Other considerations were Ivy Annabelle, Ivy Seraphina, Ivy Nicolette, Ivy Fiona and Ivy Lucille. Good luck!
We strongly considered Ivy Elizabeth (my mn) for our daughter, but ended up at Ivy Coraline - guess that wouldn't work for you ;)
Well, Tennyson is kind of interesting.. though I might prefer naming her after a female character from Tennyson.
What about Ivy Elaine, for the Lady of Shalott?
Ivy Guinevere? Love that. Or Genevieve, if you want a more modern version of the same name.
I for one, am getting pretty sick of Gray. I think the name has become popular because of that "20 Shades of Gray" book. Ivy is a plant that suggests age and overgrowth.. so it has a mysterious, antique feeling. But together with Gray, I just think of dust and death.
How about Crimson (thinking of Tennyson's "Now sleeps the crimson petal, now the white..") It's got the "son" sound you like, and such an excellent weighty, romantic quality.
Ivy Elizabeth is lovely too.
Thank you for all of the wonderful suggestions! I loved Ivy Julienne and Ivy Madison!
I dont think my husband will go for Ivy Tennyson which I lobe! He would totally do Ivy Elizabeth but I just don love it! I,mean I think it sounds great but Elizabeth seems like suvh a typical middle name, where Tennyson is so unique on a girl!
Ivy Crimson would be fantastic. If you don't use it, I might snatch it!
