My daughter is named Cates Margaret; Cates was my husband’s maternal grandmother’s maiden name. We would have used Wickham for a boy, and still will if we have a son in the future. But we have no idea what we would name another daughter – perhaps Josephine, after my great-grandfather Joseph and grandmother Jo Ann. My husband’s other grandmother was Audrey Vivian, so we would probably use one of her names as a middle name.

We’ve already used my great grandfather’s name– Rees— as a middle name for our first son.
If the next one’s a girl, she’ll get two middle names— Hazel and Rose— first name of a great grandma and middle name of another.
If the next one’s a boy, he’ll get either Edward or Brandt as middle names, the first and last names of a great grandfather.

William Everett

I”m drawing a blank in my maternal grandmother’s middle but both my grandfathers’ middle names are wonderful. Xavier is a name that’s been in the family for generations, so I might use that.

And my other grandfather was a junior who named his son William, but chose not to use Everett. I love Everett nn Rhett and due to the family connection, I’d love to use it.

Both my grandmothers have already got namesakes, so I wouldn’t use any of their names

My husband loves the name Emmett, and I’m sentimental towards it because my Father passed away four years ago…I’d love to name my first born boy after him. Christian Emmett is what we’re leaning towards.

I also love Clara and Isabelle, but my husband isn’t too thrilled with those names.

I would use Lena for sure. She was an awesome grandma! I would also use Oscar mostly because I was born on his birthday and I do like the name but he passed away before I was born and he ways wanted a grand kid born on his bday.
I like Leona but not sure if I would use it, same with Mae

Honestly, I don’t plan on having more children, but if I was I don’t think I would us any of their names. They are all a little too old fashioned, but I would consider a name that was similar, or started with the same letter. For example instead of Myra, I might name her Maya.

My maternal grandparents’ and great-grandparents’ names are Lawrence Elwin, son of Elwin and Nellie, and Marjorie June, daughter of Carl and Ella. We chose Lorraine as a similar-sounding middle name for our daughter, and would consider Elwin or Marjorie as middle names. Nellie also had a brother named Allen (Anglicized spelling, but pronounced AY-lin, as in the Irish Ailin).

My husband’s paternal grandparents’ names are William Eugene and Barbara Jean. Since my husband’s first name is William also, we plan to use that if we have a son in the future, but call him by his middle name. Barbara’s mother’s name was Sidney, and we like that too.

My husband’s mother’s family is from Hungary. The grandparents are Eva Irene and Jozsef Alan. Eva has sisters named Agnes (Agi) and Magdolna (Mato), and a brother named Peter Istvan. Agnes’s husband’s name is Barna, short for Barnabas, and we thought that was pretty cool.

I love Jessie/Janet because its a name that has been passed down, my mum is called Jessie and my sisters middle name is Janet, I think i would use a form of it.
