Best Rock Sibset? No Doubt!

rock baby names

By Linda Rosenkrantz

Rock stars are infamous for the wide range of names they give their kids, stretching from the ordinary (Harry, Henry, Josh, Jack) to the outrageous (My Chemical Romance’s Gerard Way’s daughter Bandit, Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz’s sons Bronx Mowgli and Saint Lazslo).

But there is one group whose members have successfully walked the line between the two extremes and come up with some great, imaginative, but user-friendly, names for their offspring, some of them quite ahead-of-their-time trendsetters.

And that group is—sans doubt—No Doubt, led by Gwen Stefani.

With fewer than ten weeks left in 2014, let’s take a look back at the best of the high profile birth announcements so far.

Sure, there have been some outlandish choices. Celebrity babies have been named Bunny and Buzz, Future and Royal Reign.

Here are the baby names in this week’s news, brought to you by the letter B and beyond:

summer

By Angel Thomas, aka Dantea

Well, summer’s here and with it I have a whole new list of sizzlin’ summer Greek names. In the summertime, there’s swimming, heat, and lots of outdoor fun. Plus, according to an article on livescience.com, summer is the time of year when the most babies are born, with August tending to be the busiest month. That being said, I hope all you expecting moms find a name you like for your little bundle of summer sunshine.  Here are some ideas from the ancient Greek pantheon.

Girls:

Theros — THEH-rohs– Theros is the Goddess of summer in Greek mythology and I think it has a very cool sound, reminiscent of names like Maris. With the long O sound at the end, it could conceivably be a new way to get to the nickname Rose.
