My dad's name is Rodger and my sister likes the name Aaron (we're from WI). She's joked about naming her new baby Aaron Rodger if it's a boy. At least I hope she's joking. LOL!

Like 'em or hate 'em football names are always a great conversation! There's something very substantial and unique about a lot of them. Winners of most unusual for me Mewelde, Crezdon, Atari (someone loved video games, I'm lookin at you Dad), Diyral, Jarius, Trai and Arnaz. Now kicker last names . . .

My husband is a Steelers fan and I cheer for the Pack, so we've been (jokingly) talking about compromising on names for this little babe if it's a boy: Troy Rodgers, Raji Harrison, Hines Hawk... :)

I just googled D'Brickashaw's name - apparently it was his Dad's choice. He liked that the character struggled to devote his life to God, but also to those he loved on Earth. His mom wanted something less "out there" - Montgomery - so that became his middle name.
I went to college with D'Brickashaw (nn Brick) Ferguson - he was a nice guy, with a cool name story: His mom's favorite movie apparently was the Thorn Birds, so she named him after one of the characters - Father "De Bricassart"

There was an article in Sports Illustrated (I think, maybe ESPN the magazine) a number of years ago about there being a large number of Antoines in the NFL, but they were all spelled differently - Antwaan was one of them. It was funny to see such a name-related article in SI!
