Virginia Woolf used the name Archer for a supporting character in her 1922 novel “Jacob’s Room.” Archer Flanders is the older brother of the central character, Jacob Flanders (they also have a younger brother named John.)

I love Ione/Iona, but with a profession last name it just doesn’t work. I-own-a Butler? Nope!

My baby is an Archer! We chose the name as a perfect compromise. I like old fashioned names, Archie is absolutely darling in my opinion. However SO doesn’t like old fashioned names at all, he wanted something modern. Perfect example of a name that sounds new though its old <3
