I’m now 19 and experiencing being a dad. I must say although it feels good it’s still hard. I knew it wouldn’t be easy but to be honest, the hard part is having to balance time. My daughter is great and makes managing her never dreadful. -Teen dad

Elisabeth, Ondine is one of my absolute favorite names too. I want to name my first daughter that. At least for now, maybe my tastes will grow by the time I actually have a child. Another water related name not mentioned is Lorelei.

My favorite summer names are Vasare (vah-SAH-ray) which is Lithuanian and means “summer” and Sumarlina, and Icelandic name that means “summer.”

I swear I saw the name Beach in the list of “Production Babies” in the current Pixar film “Up.”

I love Bay and August. I knew an 80-something Bay, but it was a nickname for some other name (Bernard, maybe? Or was it Albert? I can’t recall.)

And Marin and Maris are great.

I do like for a baby’s name to have some correlation to the season if it’s just the feel of the name.

Lush list here: Marina, Morwenna, Juliet, Augustine (also for girls), Thalassa, Nerissa…

One of my favorite water related names is Ondine. It’s a French name that means wave. It sounds terrible in French because it sounds like “one eats” (roughly), but I hope some Americans pick up on it because it’s gorgeous!

Yay, my name is on a baby name post! I can’t separate it from myself in any objective way, so I always hope to see someone talk about it. I was a December baby so there was no summer reference but that’s besides the point.
But the REAL point of this comment is that I would like to add that Cordelia, which was overlooked (on both lists!), means “daughter of the sea” and happens to be somewhat lovely in my opinion.
Also, I really like Pelagia and Thalassa. And I like the idea of calling a kid Winnie for Winter without having to have used Winnifred.
