Aurora is a very beautiful name, and I wouldn’t even give the Disney connection a thought!

We just named our baby daughter Aurora, and to be honest the Disney connection didn’t occur to us until months after we made it our #1 choice. We named her that in spite of the Disney film. We think it’s a gorgeous name, and we appreciate the Classical origin as well as its scientific use.

I don’t think you have to worry–Disney used most of those names a long, long time ago, and they haven’t caught on yet. I do agree about Violet Affleck having a greater influence.

Disney is “stealing” all my good names! I have Violet, Eve, Celia, Anastasia, Thalia, Gideon, and Demetrius on my list. I knew Anastasia was a Disney name, but I hadn’t realized the connection with the others. I hope they don’t become too popular, though I know Violet is heading in that direction. (I’d attributed it mostly to Jennifer Garner’s daughter, though.)

My husband and I both loved “The Rescuers” growing up. I asked him about using Bianca for a daughter, but he didn’t seem too keen.
